The ensemble consists of both musicians and people of other professions who are passionate about the rich Japanese culture. Captured by the traditional rhythms of Taiko drums, all members of the ensemble, regardless of their profession, feel this practice as a source of powerful energy that feeds both the spirit and the body. The ensemble's repertoire includes pieces from the “Ohtsuka daiko kazurakai” school, which are based on traditional Taiko rhythms.

The ensemble conducts an active concert activity, participating in festivals, exhibitions, presentations, master classes and other events.

In 2014, members of the ensemble performed as part of “Ohtsuka daiko kazurakai” in the concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the school. “Miyabi-taiko” ensemble is a permanent participant of the International Music Festival “The Heart of Japan” of the Moscow Conservatory.

The “Miyabi-taiko” ensemble was formed in 2014 on the basis of the Japanese Taiko drum class of the Moscow Conservatory's art and scholarly center “World Music Cultures”. Moscow Conservatory's Taiko class was founded by the сreator of the “Ohtsuka daiko kazurakai” Taiko school, Ebato Michiko, in 2005. The name of the ensemble was given by Ebato-sensei herself. Translated from Japanese, Miyabi means “elegant”. Moscow Conservatory's Taiko class permanent teachers are Ebato Michiko and Oshidare Rie.
